Charley Speaks

Public Speaker, Mentor, Advocate for Trans Equality

Charley Burton is a native of Charlottesville VA.  He transitioned later in life at the age of 50.

Charley is the National Program Director for Black Transmen Inc., Board Member of Blue Ridge of the PFLAG, Cville Pride, and Equality of VA. He is Chair of UVA Trans Advisory Board and Co-founder of Diversity In Recovery.

He was recently appointed by the Governor to the Virginia LGBTQ + Advisory Council, and was named an OutStanding Virginian for 2021 by Equality Virginia.
